Invite your team

Add the people who work on your jobs, and choose what they can do.

Add someone

  1. Go to Setup, then Users.
  2. Choose Invite user.
  3. Enter their Email. Their name is optional, and they can fill it in themselves later.
  4. Choose a role, and tick any extra permissions they need. See below.
  5. Choose Add user. They appear in the list straight away, marked Invited until the first time they sign in.

Tell them yourself

The dialog is honest about this: adding someone puts them on your account now, but invite emails are not connected yet, so no email is sent. Let them know they have been added.

What people can do

There are two roles. Standard can create and edit projects and takeoffs, which is what most of your team needs. Administrator has full access to everything, including managing other administrators.

A standard user can be given any of three extra permissions, separately:

Billing manages the subscription, seats and invoices. Users invites, edits and removes people. Setup manages statuses, labels, symbols and the price book.

Administrators hold all three by default, and the dialog says so when you pick that role. Someone with none of them can still do the actual work: these permissions govern the workspace, not the takeoff.

Grant setup carefully

It includes the price book, which is what every job you quote is priced from. See build your price book.

Seats

The Licences card at the top of the page shows how many seats you are using out of how many you have. Add or remove seats with the plus and minus controls and choose Update. You cannot drop below the number of people you already have.

Collaborators shared into a single project from outside your organisation are listed separately as external users, and they do not use a licence seat.

Changing or removing someone

Every row has the person, their email, their role and their status: active, invited or disabled. The pencil edits their role and permissions. On someone still marked invited there is also a control to refresh the invite.

The bin removes them from the account. You cannot remove yourself, and you cannot remove the account owner: ownership is handed over first, from Transfer ownership on the profile page.

Account activity at the foot of the page is a short history of who was invited, who joined and when the account was created.

Account access and project access are different

This page decides who is in your Tally account. Who can open one particular job, and whether an outsider gets a read-only link to it, is decided on that project. See share a project.
