Reuse work with templates
Stop retyping the same measurement set and the same job structure.
Two kinds of template
Both live under Templates in the top bar, on their own tabs, and both are shared across your whole account.
A take-off template is a set of measurements with the parts, labour and rates already attached. It is the answer to typing the same fifteen measurements on every bathroom.
A project template is the shape of a job rather than its measurements: its areas, to-dos, labels, default status and members. It is what makes a new job start half set up.

Make a take-off template from work you have done
The easiest way is to steal from a job you have already finished, rather than building one from nothing.
- Open the project’s Worksheet tab.
- On the area card holding the measurements you want, open Actions.
- Choose Save area as template, name it, and save.
To start from scratch instead, use + New take-off template on the templates page. Import CSV beside it builds one from a spreadsheet of measurements, which is the fast way in if your list already exists somewhere else.
Use one on a job
From the templates page, choose Apply on the card, then pick the project, the area and the plan it should go to. View beside it opens the template first, so you can check what is in it before it lands anywhere.
You can also work the other way round, from inside the job: on the worksheet, open Actions on an area and choose Apply take-off template.
A project template is applied when the job is created. In the New project dialog, change Template from the default blank one. The helper text says what it brings: the template’s areas, to-dos, labels, default status and members.
Applying is not linking
A template is copied into the job when you apply it. Changing the template later does not reach back into jobs you already made from it, and changing the job does not change the template.
Keeping a growing shelf usable
Each card shows what is inside it, such as two measurements, two parts and one labour line, so you are not opening templates to remember what they are.
Search by name, sort the list, and filter by take-off label. Labels are what keep this page usable once you have thirty templates: tag them by trade and the chips do the rest. Manage take-off labels takes you to where those labels are defined. See customise your workspace.
